System of Writing
Ancient Egyptians were one of the first civilizations to attempt creating a system of writing. This system
is called hieroglyphs, which was a simple collection of symbols that meant words. Egyptians
drastically influenced other languages, and the development of writing.
Religous Practices
Ancient Egypt was one of the first civilizations to question where we went in death. They believed
in myths that effected their understanding of the after life. Their beliefs have changed our world and our religions
by making us too question where we go and how we get there.
Mathmatical Advancements
Many of the texts that have been collected over the years suggest that Ancient Egyptians studied math. Without
math they wouldn't have been able to create the pyramids and other giant structures they did. Studying the basic geometry
and physics they left behind has greatly effected our studies today.
Medical Effects
The Egyptians began to learn about the human body through the practice of mummification. They became very
skilled at observing symptoms, finding cures, and curing illnesses. Egyptians were also the first to perform complex
surgical operations and learn to cure illnesses with herbs. These practices were the basic foundation for modern medicine
that we have today.
The Arts
Greeks were the first to give credit to the Egyptians in their foundation of the arts. After all, the Greeks
were highly influenced from Egyptian sculptures and architecture. Greeks continued
to advance in the arts and eventually effected modern day art.
